This website, melmel.com.au (including the /service/ Melbourne site), is operated by Melmel Consulting Pty Ltd (ABN 22 167 088 306, ACN 167 088 306), Suite 704, 566 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne VIC 3004. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What we collect
- Information you give us: name, phone, email, WeChat ID, business name, website, Google Business Profile link, and anything you tell us through forms, the chat window, email or phone.
- Order details: name, email, billing address and what you bought. Card details are processed directly by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
- Browsing data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and referring URL, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
How we use it
- To answer enquiries, prepare quotes, and deliver and manage the services you buy;
- To process payments, issue invoices and meet our tax and legal obligations;
- To produce the free audits and tool reports you request and email them to you;
- To improve the website and measure website and advertising performance;
- With your consent, to send occasional service updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
Only with service providers we need to deliver our services, and only for that purpose: web hosting and email providers, payment providers, Google (Analytics, Search Console and similar), OpenAI (ChatGPT ads measurement), and the AI model provider behind our chat window. Some of these providers store data overseas, including in the United States and China. Otherwise we disclose personal information only when the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics and the OpenAI ads pixel to measure visits and ad performance. These tools use cookies to record anonymous or de-identified browsing data. You can block or clear cookies in your browser; the main features of the site will still work.
Chat window
Replies in the chat window are generated automatically by an AI model. What you type is sent to the AI provider to produce a reply and is stored on our server so we can follow up. Please do not enter card numbers, passwords or other sensitive details. If you ask for a human, the conversation is passed to our staff.
Storage and security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information, including HTTPS encryption and restricted admin access. We keep information only as long as we need it for business or legal purposes, then delete or de-identify it.
Access, correction and complaints
You can contact us at any time to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or to ask us to delete it. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, contact us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC, oaic.gov.au).
